Tzu Chi Youth Association (TCYA), a branch of Tzu Chi USA, is a service-learning program designed for students in grades 7 through 12. Guided by dedicated Tzu Chi volunteers and student officers, the program emphasizes education on topics such as environmental protection, followed by hands-on volunteer opportunities within various Tzu Chi initiatives. Participants can earn community service hours while developing compassion, leadership, and a commitment to social responsibility.

East LA Chapter includes students from Walnut, Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, West Covina, Covina, San Dimas, Claremont, La Verne, Arcadia, and Diamond Bar, etc.

面對複雜的社會百態，如何幫助下一代產生足夠的力量，擁有心靈免疫力，不深陷五光十色的慾望陷阱裡？證嚴上人認為，關鍵就在「教育」，從家庭到學校帶動「生命教育、品德教育、人文教育」，才能導迷思為慎思，讓孩子們走向正確的人生軌道。常言道：教育要從小開始。家庭是接受教育的第一步，父母要以身作則，作為孩子的模範；學校老師除了傳授學業、知識外，更要善用智慧，啟發孩子心中的悲憫之苗。然而，除了家庭教育，以及學校教育之外，社會大環境的教育，更是不可輕忽。「教育要在全民社會，而不僅在學校課堂上；讓孩子們接觸人群，身體力行發揮愛心。」在上人眼中，每一個孩子就是一顆種籽，即使只照顧好少數孩子，從一而終，也能成就無量優質果實。美國慈濟深耕社區教育的人文素養，開辦「人文學校/人文班」、「品格教育班」、「大愛幼兒園」、「大愛小學」、「青少年成長班」，而為能讓更多的孩子們能薰習人文、涵養品德，寒暑假期間舉辦各項營隊。以不同因緣認識慈濟的孩子，為了能夠凝聚這些菩提種子的持續養成，也能彼此砥礪，應運而生了── 慈少：慈濟青少年簡稱，泛指國中生和高中生，年齡為13～18歲。
